1 Day Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health – Virtual Course

A one day course held via Teams or Zoom or other preferred platform.

Know what mental health is, why people develop mental health conditions and the role of a First Aider for mental health
Know how to provide advice and practical support for a person presenting a mental health condition
Know how to recognise and manage stress
Know how to recognise a range of mental health conditions, these include:
• Depression • Anxiety • Psychosis • Eating disorders • Suicide • Self-harm
Understand the impact of substance abuse on mental health
Understand the first aid action plan for mental health and be able to put it in place
Know how to implement a positive mental health culture in the workplace

A range of methods are used, including practical and questioning (open and multiple-choice). The morning session will be led by our Instructor, in the afternoon you will be asked to re-join the meeting at a scheduled time to take part in your professional discussion – this forms the assessment part of this course.

Certification is electronic and awarded by First Aid Awards, validity is 3 years.

The cost of this 1-day course is £395.00 plus vat for up to 8 delegates, there is a further fee of £14.00 plus vat per delegate for certification and resources.
