Automated External Defibrillation - Online
Automated External Defibrillation (AED) is well established as the only effective therapy for cardiac arrest. The scientific evidence to support early defibrillation is overwhelming, the single most determinant of survival being the delay from collapse to delivery of the first shock. The chances of successful defibrillation decline at a rate of 7-10% with each minute. Basic life support may help to sustain a shockable rhythm but is not a definitive treatment.

How long is the course and how is it held?
This course is accessed on our online platform, there are 7 parts to the program which can be completed in one go or the learner can log in and out and complete at their own pace. The total time needed is no more than 3 hours.

Assessment & Certification
There is an online test at the end of this course – the pass rate is 80%.
